The following projects are representative of the mechanical experience of the TeamMembers of Reliable Contracting Group.

Possum Point Power Plant Expansion, Old Dominion Power, Dumfries, Virginia
$886,000 – Completed November 2002

This was a competitively bid, design-build project awarded in December 2001. Reliable TeamMembers performed the design and supervision of the control work associated with the HVAC package along with the electrical contract to install all wire and conduit. We also designed, furnished and installed the total HVAC system. The project consisted of five buildings: Turbine Building (220’ x 100’ x 98’), Wastewater Treatment Building (115’ x 60’ x 28’), Water Pretreatment Building (89’ x 42’ x 28’), Cooling Tower Water Building (40’ x 40’ x 18’), CO2 Building (15’ x 5’ x 10’). The work included five combination heating and cooling roof top units, 54 electric unit heaters ranging in size from 5 KW to 20 KW, and 45 fans ranging in size from 800 CFM to 40,000 CFM. Over 100,000 pounds of metal was required to fabricate the ductwork.

Install HVAC and Process Ductwork, Project Genesis, Procter & Gamble World Class Paper Mill, Mehoopany, Pennsylvania
$2,331,000 – Completed September 2001

Even though this was a new building, a big portion of the ductwork had to be installed above new production equipment at heights from 30 to 80 feet above finished floor. There was a total of 28 S.A. and exhaust fans for the process ductwork, ranging from 5,000 cfm to 100,000 cfm at 20" S.P. with eight make-up air units at 100,000 cfm each. There were also seven heating and air conditioning split systems at 25,000 cfm each along with thirty-five unit heaters. The ductwork consisted of galvanized, stainless steel, aluminum and C.S. material in gauges from 10 to 22.
