New Construction

The following projects are representative of the new construction experience of the TeamMembers of Reliable Contracting Group.

Project Support Facility, NASA GSFC Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, Virginia
$3,819,712 – Completed November 2006

Construction of an 8,500 square foot facility for NASA.The building is wedge-shaped with a 240-foot radius exterior, front wall and matching covered walkway. The facility includes a 272-seat auditorium and supporting facilities. An interesting challenge to this project is that there are only two walls within this facility that form a 90 degree angle; all other walls are acute or obtuse angles requiring advance initial layout and quality control skills to ensure we achieve the desired architectural affect for our customer.

Center Consolidation, Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center, Reno, Nevada
$18,270,703 – Completed November 2006.

This project creates a new campus environment through the demolition of some old Air Force buildings, extensive site work and landscaping, and the construction of 8 new buildings -- an administration building, recreation building, 2 education buildings, a student services building, and 3 vocation buildings – and all associated infrastructures, including parking areas, courtyards, and greenscapes.

Construct U.S. Army Reserve Center, Ft. Buchanan, San Juan, PR
$12,353,807 – Completed May 2004

The project to construct the Army Reserve Readiness Center consisted of site preparation and new construction of a five building complex – a two-story Operations and Command building, a one-story Education/Gymnasium, an open air Assembly and a raised bay Storage building. The total five building complex encompassed over 71,000 square feet of facility space. All of the buildings in the complex are interconnected by covered walkways or a bridge between the two-story buildings for ease of movement between the buildings. This was a complete out-of-the-ground new construction project to provide office space for over 500 Reservists.

Special Operations Facility, NSWU4 - USNS Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico
$9,502,440 – Completed January 2003

The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidental related work required to construct two new cast-in-place concrete buildings including site work, masonry work, steel decking and joists, finish carpentry, roofing system, doors, windows, hardware, rolling service doors, ceramic tile, acoustical ceiling, VCT flooring, carpet, fluid applied flooring, vinyl wall coverings and painting. Installation of toilet partitions, steel clothing lockers, wire mesh partitions, accordion folding partitions, sewage pump station, above ground vault type storage tanks, interior fire detection and alarm system, addressable interior fire detection and alarm system, wet-pipe fire suppression sprinklers, plumbing system, HVAC systems, DDC and TAB. Also included are generator sets, pad mounted transformers, overhead transmission and distribution, underground electrical work, interior distribution systems, automatic transfer switches, interior and exterior lighting, telecommunication cabling and pathways, outside telephone distribution system, landscaping and asphalt parking and roadway and other incidental related work which includes relocation of the existing weapons vault doors and hardware as well as installation of government furnished compressors and equipment.
