Approximately two-thirds of the Underground Pipeline was installed through end of runway restricted air space requiring operating height / equipment movement limitations and FAA Aeronautical Space Study (ASN) and FAA Approval / Tyndall Airfield Operations Approval. Environmental considerations and Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) permitting was required for various aspects of the project to include removal and disposal of contaminated soils, underground pipeline installation through wetlands and wetlands restoration, multiple permitting requirements for dewatering discharge through known petroleum contamination plumes, suspect contamination areas, and non-contaminated areas.
