Brief Project Description

This was a design-build project to provide the necessary repairs to bring Tank 6 into compliance with API 650/653 and DOD Standard AW 78-24-27.  Tank 6 is a 52-foot diameter, 40-foot high 14,400 Bbl Jet-A fuel storage tank with an aluminum dome roof and a steel double deck internal floating roof.  Repairs included replacing the tank shell ground lugs; replacing the existing internal floating roof double wiper seal with a primary and secondary shoe seal system, alternating the piping between the tank and the product saver tank, relocating the receipt high level control valve and adding a double block and bleed valve to the receipt line, adding an internal and external low suction line and nozzle, modifying the internal issue and receipt piping, replacing the existing threaded thermal relief system with new stainless socket weld system, repairing the existing steel ATG and manual gauge stilling wells, adding a water temperature probe stilling well, install new low-low, low, high, and high-high Scully level alarms and piping and controls, repair the geodesic dome roof, and provide a complete new internal coating system with coating repairs on the exterior.
